Homemade nut milk is something I make a couple times a week and try to always have on hand. I tend to favor milks that are made by blending whole nuts or seeds so I can skip the soak and strain thing. For this, I prefer hemp seeds, cashews, or a mix of seed and nut. Store bought milk is not only pricey for anything of quality, but usually also contains unwanted ingredients. Homemade only contains nuts/seeds, filtered water, and anything else you want to include like a little sea salt, vanilla, or sweetener. I like knowing exactly what’s in my milk. I also buy nuts and seeds in bulk which saves on packaging waste. I use this in my tea, smoothies, oatmeal, and chia seed puddings.

This makes a thick and creamy milk. Add more water or less cashews if you want a thinner consistency.
*Cashews contain heart healthy fats. They also contains magnesium, which is great for bones, mind, body, and promotes better sleep.
