I am back, again, from a little blogging break. Excuses suck buuuuut between working full-time, health school, and a few getaways, I have had little to no time to visit you, here. Things are quiet for a little so, fingers crossed, I will be able to pump out some fun new posts.
Several weeks back, while picking up some goodies at William Sonoma, I spotted this nifty Komucha kit. I have always wanted to make my own kombucha but the thought of it just seemed too time consuming and complicated. I’m sure it’s not, but it definitely was in my head. The kit seemed super easy and hassle free, so I gave it a go. I just finished bottling and flavoring. I’m letting it sit a couple more days to really develop flavor, but I did sneak a little taste this morning. Verdict; totally worth it! It has a good, sweet flavor and just the right amount of carbonation. The kit comes with supplies (tea, sugar, and flavorings) and a scoby (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) which gets sent to you. The scoby multiplies and gets re-used, making multiple brews pretty cost efficient. At least compared to buying multiple bottles a week at around $4 a pop. It fills about 3 16 oz bottles, so if you are a regular ‘bucha drinker, it won’t totally mean no more store-bought. However, it’s pretty neat to make your own!
Do you guys ever brew your own kombucha??
